There is family – parents, siblings, nieces, nephews – who enrich life beyond words. I am lucky enough to have another type of family as well – my community family. As library director I served in a public position for more than 20 years and had the opportunity to get to know many people from all sides of our community. Tim taught in the elementary school for years. Through his students and their families, we got to know many more people. We are lucky to live here – a place where people know and care about each other, even if we don’t agree on issues.

This recall campaign saddens and frustrates me. I believe this recall effort was initiated on baseless accusations that do not show or prove “gross misconduct or illegal activity” by any of the assembly members named in the petitions. The recall is divisive. Allegations and misinformation are flying around and hurting people who generously give their time to serve our community. It does not support the democratic process. It is not in the best interest of our community.

Please join me in voting no on the recall of Tresham Gregg, Heather Lende and Tom Morphet. Let’s begin the healing process now. Let’s extend our hands and our listening ears to those who don’t agree with us and figure out how to work together to assure this incredible and wonderful place we live remains a community we are proud to call home.
