The Haines School gym will get a facelift this month after equipment malfunctions last August left the floor with imperfections.
Alaskan Industries Inc. out of Wasilla is set to start work on Karl Ward Gymnasium June 1. Superintendent Tony Habra said the company, which specializes in athletic and specialty flooring, will strip the floor to the hardwood, then sand, repaint and seal the floor with clear coating.
Habra said the construction is estimated to cost the district $24,700 and take about three to four weeks to complete.
