I would like to thank both Patty Brown and Cheryl Stickler for their years of service to the children of the Chilkat Valley. Since retiring, I’ve come to realize the amazing commitment teachers and administrators devote to their jobs. I found out when I retired how life-consuming the profession is.
Both Cheryl and Patty have worked many years, day in and out, with one hope of making your children’s years in school be the very best they could be. As with many things in our society, the value and recognition, both monetarily and publicly, given to those who make a big difference in day-to-day outcomes of where our world ends up often get put behind “big money,” “big prestige,” “big ego” and more. Thanks to both of you! It does make a difference in the world.
And thanks to all those who continue day-to-day in the unrelenting effort to make us all more informed, more tolerant of views from a big, big world, and willing to understand and work with people who have opposing views. That includes support staff, teachers, administrators, parents, and many others in our community.
