Two of the Southeast Alaska State Fair’s biggest events, Spring Fling and the Great Alaska Craft Beer and Home Brew Festival, kick of the summer season this month.
Spring Fling at the park stage on the fairgrounds starts 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28. The band Sweet Sunny North will play for the square dance from 6 to 7 p.m. with caller Gene Kennedy, said fair director Jessica Edwards.
Tully Devine, Tim Hawkin and Larry Zarella will take over the music with band TTL at 7:30 p.m. Barbecue, beer, a bounce house, the climbing wall, games and face painting will be featured.
The annual beer festival rounds out the month, May 26-28. The local band God Particles is set to play.
