As some of you may have heard, The Uglys have a new piece of property and are in the process of setting up a new “clubhouse.” This property was generously donated by Vicky Munden, so she gets the first thank you of many. Roger Schnabel and Keith Kaiser each donated worksite trailers which have been set in place. Louie Meacock has donated several loads of fill, the Jack Smiths, both Big and Little, helped haul it. Brother Chip Strong from Chip’s Excavating used his equipment with help from Deano Risley and Dano Hanson to move it.
Dave Long at Haines Real Estate helped us with the paperwork. Thank you, Ralph Borders, for lots of advice and help, and Kenny Waldo for being able to do just about anything.
The Haines Pool League takes a portion of its proceeds every year and lets the winning team donate it to a local group. This year’s winners were the Hotshots from the Pioneer Bar and they chose us to the tune of $550. Thank you, Hotshots, and the whole pool league.
Last but not least, Ashlyn Ganey. This young lady got $100 from Santa at Christmas time and wanted to split it up and donate it to five different groups. She graciously thought of us as one of those. She is a shining example of the goodness of our community. Her parents should be very proud and we are very humbled. It’s with your help that we can do what we do.
