The Haines Borough Planning Commission recommends that the borough assembly appoint Rob Goldberg and Jeremy Stephens to the commission.

That is a potential reappointment for Goldberg, who is the commission’s chairman. If approved, Stephens would replace Heather Lende, who was recently elected to the assembly.

On Nov. 10, the six planning commissioners numerically rated five applicants, with Goldberg and Stephens receiving the highest scores.

The scoring went 290 points for Goldberg, 200 points for Stephens, 150 points for Diana Lapham, 150 points for John Norton, and 130 points for Leonard Dubber.

Planning commissioner Brenda Josephson scored Dubber highly. All six gave Goldberg high scores. Commissioners Don Turner III and Larry Geise gave high marks to Lapham. Geise scored Norton highly. Goldberg and commissioners Lee Heinmiller and Rob Miller gave Stephens high scores.
