Lynnview Mercantile opens May 15 at 77 Beach Road, Portage Cove’s Green Dolphin building that previously housed as a SEARHC counseling office.

Besides serving as the counter for all-wheel-drive car rental, the store will offer Kelleen Adams’ original T-shirt designs and her hand-painted bags, driftwood and pillows.

A section for local photography will include work by Ron Horn and Mandy Ramsey. Jewelry will include pieces by artists from Adams’ former hometown of Austin, Texas and Wimberley earrings. The store also will offer free WiFi.

Adams said for passengers off cruise ships she’ll also offer staples like hot coffee and tea, rain ponchos and other travelers’ necessities. The store will offer outdoor seating and perhaps a chiminea.

“We just want to have a great, eclectic feeling, a mix of a lot of things done very tastefully,” Adams said.

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and with an 8 a.m. opening on Wednesdays to accommodate cruise visitors. The store’s phone number will be 766-2222.

Artists interested in having their works displayed at the shop can call Adams at 766-3713.
