The people of the United States of America have a birthright and constitutional rights to freedom and due process of law.
The Haines Borough code requires members of the Haines Borough Assembly and administration to take an oath of office to support the constitution of the United States, the constitution of the State of Alaska and the Haines Borough Charter. Some people who take the oath of office uphold and comply with it without question.
Other people who take the oath of office completely ignore the oath they took, or do not understand the laws they swore to uphold. In 2015, when I asked the assembly to comply with their codes and uphold the oath of office they took, only one member of the assembly adhered to the oath of office he had sworn to uphold.
The only member of the assembly that upheld and complied with the oath he swore to as a member of the assembly is George Campbell. Other assembly members, the Mayor and the manager at that time, all violated the oath of office they took when they became part of Haines Borough government.
I would like to compliment George Campbell and thank him for supporting laws and adhering to the oath of office he took when he was elected. The recent Superior Court decision in my favor has confirmed my belief that Campbell complied with with his oath of office.
My experience with our local government has reinforced my belief that the fight to maintain liberty and our constitutional rights never ends.
