Hudson Sage of the Haines Venturer Scouts loads a Douglas fir Christmas tree into a pickup truck at the entrance of last weekend’s Community Education Bazaar. The scouts expect to sell 122 trees this year, up from 60 when their sale of trees from the Lower 48 started four years ago. The trees sell for $40-$70 and the group receives discounted freight from Alaska Marine Lines. The group’s wreaths are in and can be picked up 6-7 p.m. Friday at the Haines School. Tom Morphet photo
