The Haines High School cross-country teams hosted the home meet last weekend, and it took a lot of helpers to make it a success. Thank you to Haines School staff and parents for volunteering and cheering; especially Linnus Danner, Tiana Taylor, Ashley Sage and Darwin Feakes for their expertise; Southeast Alaska State Fairgrounds for the most adventurous course in Alaska; Kluane-Chilkat International Bike Relay for loaning signage; Stump Company for clearing obstacles before the race; Haines Police Department for monitoring the road; community members for supporting the teams; bicyclists for tailing the runners, motorists for watching out for runners and the cross-country teams for representing the Glacier Bears proudly. Thanks also to team assistant Alixanne Goodman. What a great season we’re having!
