We would like to thank the Lynn Canal Gillnetters Association for once again sponsoring the king salmon barbecue on June 20 at the Southeast Alaska State Fairgrounds. The event has grown annually, with this year marking the largest attendance ever with a total of 1,300 plates of food served. This would not have been possible without the generous donation of king salmon by Ocean Beauty Seafoods and Excursion Inlet Packing, the time and energy of Haines Packing who prepared the salmon for cooking, and the tireless efforts of Gregg Bigsby to organize the event. And finally, a huge “thank you” to all the volunteers who helped cook and serve this food to the public.
