Fourth’s pie-eating event may be scratched

The Fourth of July pie-eating contest is up for grabs.

Borough visitor’s center staff have put on the event for several years, but won’t this year, said tourism director Leslie Ross. Ross said she already puts in too many hours to be responsible for the event. Ross said she’d like to close the visitor’s center for the day. “It’s a big, family day,” she said.
