This past Monday, Memorial Day, the members of our local American Legion stepped up to organize a great day of remembrance at Jones Point Cemetery and at Klukwan. I would like to personally thank Terry Pardee and the work crew for graveside flag placement, Bob and Sally Lix and crew for cemetery cleanup, Gene Strong for the graveside prayers and fine words, and Ralph Strong for his heartfelt words and prayers at Klukwan. Thank you to David Sosa for speaking at Jones Point and Klukwan, where he spoke of the camaraderie and brotherhood of our military members and fallen heroes. A special thank you to Tom Morphet and Casey Bradford for playing “Taps” on their trumpets. To all of our American Legion members, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion, thank you for your continued service to God, country and community.
