On Saturday, May 9, my loving wife Anneliese Stacy passed away after a brief illness. Anneliese made the sacred journey from this life the way she wanted to: At home in her beloved Haines, surrounded by family and a host of loving friends. Dave Kammerer stayed with us around the clock, sharing in all the details of care. Nora Krake, Tom and Ann Quinlan, Becky Nash, Nancy Hotch, Dean and Tina Olsen, Steve and Sara Virg-In, Brad and Teri Wing, Bill and Rocki Rostad, Gene Strong and local ministers all stayed and comforted us.

The mothers of Head Start provided the food following the church service. If I missed some people, please understand it’s a hard time.

Thank you to the many people who brought meals and shared their love and stories about “Teacher Anneliese.” Thanks also to the clinic staff who came to our home daily.

The American Legion and Hospice of Haines loaned us needed equipment. Thanks to those at the Presbyterian Church for a beautiful Christian service. We are honored to be part of the Haines community.
