The National Library Week Festivities at the Haines Borough Public Library were a big success, thanks in large part to the generous musicians who played for our Music in the Stacks Series.

We’d like to thank all those who came to join us in celebrating this important week, and those who helped make it special, specifically our musicians: Dean “Bear” Lari, who played mandolin, violin, piano and guitar with his friend Bill Holton; Holly Davis who sang and played piano, ukulele and harp; Tom Heywood who sang and played guitar; Aleta Adkins who played piano; HAL’S Pals who played guitar, concertina, piano, etc .; Burl Sheldon who played guitar and sang; and Diana Pyle who played piano. Their talent lifted the atmosphere in the library from pleasant to sublime for the hour per day they played and sang. Haines is fortunate to be so rich in skilled musicians, and we hope to have them perform for us again.
