The Haines Archery Club would like to congratulate our best shooters this year at the State of Alaska Archery Competition. Nora Prisciandaro placed second in fourth-grade girls and was 10th in her division of elementary girls. Nattaphon (Ice) Wangyot placed second in 11th-grade boys and was 18th in the high school division. I would also like to thank our coaches this year: Ken and Judy Ewald, Ray Staska, Al Giddings, Eric Forster and John Hagen. Their dedication to the sport has been extremely valuable to the Archery Club. I would also like to thank the Alaska Department of Fish and Game for their support of the National Archery in the Schools (NASP) program. Fish and Game does more than just manage our fisheries. They also provide training for NASP instructors and hunter safety classes in schools at no cost. Did you know that the federal government gives $3 for every dollar you spend on the licenses you purchase? Purchasing your yearly fish and game licenses helps support these programs in our state.

Please join us in the elementary gym from 10 a.m. to noon on May 9 to try our archery range. We will be having a fundraiser on May 9 to raise money to replace and repair our equipment . Donations are always accepted.
