A coroner’s report found that Porcupine miner Jerry Fabrizio, 72, died of heart disease.

Fabrizio was found dead Aug. 4 at his remote mining claim near Cahoon Creek in the Porcupine mining district.

The report was recently sent to Fabrizio’s family members. The death certificate dated Sept. 24 lists the cause of death as hypertensive atheroscloretic cardiovascular disease.

Phil Lockerman, Fabrizio’s brother, said his vegetarian brother “exercised like crazy,” but wasn’t the type to visit a doctor, even if he was in pain.
