The Alaska Arts Confluence last month hired Shannon Donahue as its part-time business manager to oversee the nonprofit’s projects, finances and public relations.

Donahue will work about 10-20 hours a week and focus on the Art on Main Street and Fort Seward Wayside Interpretation projects, said arts confluence creative director Carol Tuynman.

The new position is funded by an ArtPlace America grant.

Donahue, who holds a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and a master’s degree in environmental studies, has six years of nonprofit management experience. She currently works as executive director of the Great Bear Foundation.

Donahue has also worked as an interpreter for the U.S. Forest Service and a state parks bear monitor at the Chilkoot River.
