Beginners and experts alike are welcome at a Sept. 13 sketching workshop led by resident artist Alexandra Feit.

The workshop runs from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sheldon Museum. It is sponsored by the Alaska Arts Confluence.

Feit, who has taught sketching workshops before, said she uses sketching to remember thoughts or ideas and would like to teach others to use the medium in that way.

“I find that when I travel I use sketching as a way to stay artistically connected, and I feel like it’s something anybody can do,” Feit said.

Students will move from quick sketches to longer sketches, and will use basic watercolors to augment their work.

Students should bring a sketchbook, Sharpie marker and a simple watercolor set.

There is a $10 fee and registration is required. To sign up, call 303-0222 or email [email protected].
