The Southeast Alaska State Fair will host its annual membership meeting 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 at Harriett Hall, followed at 6 p.m. by an appreciation dinner for members, fair volunteers and sponsors.
The annual meeting is open to current fair members, and will include a review of 2013-2014 accomplishments; board of directors’ elections; and a time for member and board comments. Four board members are up for re-election. Memberships may be purchased at the door.
“My director’s report will give a recap of the year’s events, rentals and capital projects for the membership,” said executive director Jessica Edwards. “I will also take a moment to note goals for the upcoming year. We encourage members to attend, to give feedback and be a part of the process.”
Fair volunteers, members and sponsors are invited at 6 p.m. to a free appreciation dinner of enchiladas, salad and dessert.
“The 2014 Southeast Alaska State Fair was a success by all accounts,” Edwards said. “The level of community support for this event is so inspiring. It makes me glad to be a part of it.
“The fair’s board of directors and staff really hope volunteers, members and sponsors will drop by the appreciation dinner so we can personally thank all those who contributed to the fair and celebrate its success.”
