The Southeast Alaska State Fair seeks volunteers to help prepare the fairgrounds on the weekend of July 26-27.

Volunteers also are needed to run rides and games for children and adults, or help monitor McPherson Barn, during the 46th annual fair, which runs July 31 through Aug. 3. A few volunteers are still needed.

Work includes assembling the Ferris wheel and antique carousel, setting up the logging area, moving tents, weeding flowerbeds, pulling alders, and painting signs.

Volunteers contributing at least four hours receive a free day pass to the Fair. Contact the Fair office at 766-2476 for more information.
