Lynn Canal Counseling Services employees are among the workers swinging hammers and rolling paint at Main Street’s Ellingen Building in advance of a May 31 deadline for moving out of their current offices on Willard Street. The non-profit recently signed a one-year lease and is framing in new offices and group rooms. LCCS executive director Kelly Williamson is pictured in what will be the reception area. The new location will more than triple the organization’s space, add a play therapy room, and allow it to serve clients with bathing, kitchen and laundry facilities. It may also provide a holding area for patients in psychiatric crisis and help the group reach new requirements for accreditation. Space was previously so tight that therapy groups had to meet in common areas, Williamson said. “It’s exciting that now we have enough space to dream big.” Author Chilkat Valley News View all posts
