“Salmon Confidential,” a documentary about fish farming in British Columbia, is screening at 6 p.m. at the library Thursday, March 13.

The film is presented by Lynn Canal Conservation.

The documentary tells the story of biologist Alexandra Morton, who discovers wild salmon in British Columba are testing positive for European salmon viruses associated with fish farming.

Morton makes her way from courtrooms to remote British Columbia rivers to Vancouver grocery stores and sushi restaurants over the course of the film in an attempt to bring critical information to the public.

According to the “Salmon Confidential” website, the film “provides surprising insight into the inner workings of government agencies, as well as rare footage of the bureaucrats tasked with managing our fish and the safety of our food supply.”
