The Chilkoot Indian Association will hold an open house of its new office building on Friday, Jan. 10.

Tribal administrator Dave Berry said the all-day event is open to the public. “The building is about 90 percent done right now. It’s just a matter of picking up some of our stuff.”

The $2 million building, erected by the tribe’s own construction wing, came in right on budget, Berry said.

The office on Third Avenue near Willard Street replaces the former location on Main Street that housed the tribe since 1997.
