KHNS raised about $7,000 during its online and on-air auction fund-raiser, said development director Leslie Ross.
“I was really happy with it,” Ross said. “I think it was fun to let people watch their items in the bidding and get into the frenzy.”
The station may reconsider the timing of the event, as the event missed out on seasonal businesses in Skagway, she said. Leftover items will be offered in a silent auction during the station’s New Year’s Eve ball at the Chilkat Center, she said.
