On behalf of the Friends of the Library I would like to thank everyone who made this year’s Holiday Open House at the library one of the best ever. Thank you to Howsers IGA for its generous donation of food and to Mountain Market for the delicious coffee. For our silent auction we had more than 30 beautiful trees donated by children, organizations, businesses and artists from the community. Thanks also to all who bought raffle tickets for the snowblower. Now we need a good blizzard for our winner, James Alborough, to put it to good use. Holly Davis, with her helper Stacey Clark, provided songs, stories and crafts for all the kids. Thank you, ladies. A special thanks to Jeff Alvine, who provided a solid two hours of Christmas music much to the delight of everyone. Thanks also to the bakers who made the treats. And, of course, thank you, people of Haines, for coming and supporting our library.
