Some AT&T customers in Haines were unable to use their cell phones over the weekend due to a power outage and generator failure at the company’s Mount Ripinksy tower.

Cell phone service ceased at about 4 p.m. Saturday and was restored by Sunday afternoon, said AT&T spokesperson Andy Colley.

“AT&T technicians worked to repair the damage as quickly as possible and restored the wireless service at approximately 1 p.m. on Sunday,” Colley said.
