On behalf of the Alaska Historical Society and Museums Alaska Board of Directors, we would like to extend an emphatic thank you to the community of Haines for hosting our annual conference Sept. 25-28. There were so many personal touches that made this conference a special one, from cobbling together an incredible selection of food from restaurants and bakeries around town, to the welcome signs posted specifically for conference attendees all over town. Businesses stayed open a few extra days to accommodate our descent onto Haines. We were so impressed by the community’s embrace and hospitality. Haines, you served as an outstanding host.

Special thanks go to the Sheldon Museum and our host committee composed of Jerrie Clarke, Christina Baskaya, Blythe Carter, Kris Reeves and Nancy Nash. They assembled a hardworking group of community volunteers who assisted attendees at every turn. We would be remiss to not thank our local sponsors and supporters, as well.

We last had our conference in Haines in 2003. After such a show, please expect us again in another 10 years, if not before.
