The Haines pool reopened Friday following a 10-day closure to address problems with water leaking from the facility’s shower rooms to the Haines High School locker rooms below.
Borough facilities director Carlos Jimenez said the problem stemmed with deterioration in three, cast-iron floor drains in the dressing room areas of the pool’s men’s and women’s locker rooms. The borough replaced the drains.
Pinpointing and fixing the problem cost the borough about $5,000, Jimenez said.
