The Rettinger family would like to say a big thank you to the many organizations, businesses, and individuals who donated funds to help Jayden travel to Anchorage to compete in the state spelling bee competition. Once again, Haines has gathered together to show its support to our motivated young ones. This is a very unique characteristic that Haines demonstrates time and time again and I think it’s what makes Haines great. Just having your support and your pat on the back has elevated Jayden’s confidence level and encouraged him beyond words. I need to say a special thank you to Tom Morphet and the Chilkat Valley News. Thank you for your donation and for taking academics seriously. Thank you also to the American Legion, the Emblem Club, the Uglys of Haines and Lutak Lumber for their donations. Thank you to each person who donated money or wrote us a nice ‘way to go!’ card. Jayden will be representing Haines on March 1 in the state spelling bee. Thank you Haines for getting us there – we’ll keep you posted as to how our trip goes!
