If you think you have an exciting personal history, or think you know someone who does, the Sheldon Museum is looking for the story.
The museum invites residents to write brief histories of local people they know –including a photograph – and submit them for an exhibit that opens Feb. 1. The mini-biographies will be accepted on an ongoing basis after the exhibit opens.
Descendants, friends and admirers of people who made history – or are still making it – are invited to submit a one-page biographical statement and color photo.
Discussions of the subjects of these biographies, including their importance to the community, will be held during a Brown Bag Lunch and evening programs to be held in February and March. Recordings of the programs will be transcribed and added to the Sheldon Museum’s archive.
Suggested information for the biographies includes date of birth, arrival here, nature of work, place of residence, family members or other information that explains their importance.
