Liana Shull is now offering family, marriage and individual counseling services to adults and children through Intertidal Counseling Services, upstairs in Main Street’s Gateway Building.
Her office, #22, is next to the public health nurse office.
Shull worked the previous four years as clinical program director for Lynn Canal Counseling.
Shull said she offers a confidential setting for clients who’d rather not seek counseling through an agency or are unable to use other services, increasing residents’ chances of getting “the right fit” for counseling services.
A licensed clinical social worker with a master’s degree in social work, Shull holds a certificate in counseling for chemical dependency. Her offerings include mental health, substance abuse, trauma and family discord issues.
Previous to moving to Haines, she worked with teens and younger children for Juneau Youth Services and AWARE.
Shull said she has experience treating anxiety and depression and also can make referrals to other counseling agencies. “My plan is to get people to the resources they need. I work with SEARHC and Lynn Canal Counseling in terms of meeting my clients’ needs.”
She also works closely with the medical clinic for medication and physical health issues.
Shull accepts private insurance and offers a sliding scale. “To the best of my ability, I’ll work with people.”
