We, Tim June and Sue Nelson, would like to thank the many friends and fellow members of the Haines community who have given generously of your time, energy and money to help us through our extended medical emergency. We were medevaced out of Haines to Swedish Heart Hospital in Seattle on July 15.
To name just a few, we thank Dr. Julia Heinz and the great staff at the SEARHC clinic as well as the skilled crews of Haines ambulance and Airlift Northwest for their care in our evacuation. We are forever grateful to George Figdor, Nancy Schnabel, Stephanie and Reed Scott and our neighbors for their countless helpful tasks and generous support. Many thanks to Bud Barber, Sean Bryant, Gregg Bigsby, Michael Ganey, Donnie Turner, Joey and Terry Jacobson, Jim Jurgeleit, Matt Boron, Nishan and Susan Weerasinghe, Reed Barber and Chip Lende for the boat/car moving assistance. We are very grateful to the employees of the Haines Borough who generously shared some of their personal leave with Sue and helped fill in where needed. And finally, to the many known friends and anonymous donors who helped us in our time of need, we thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Haines is, as always, an incredible community and we are fortunate to be two of its members. We look forward to our return when we too can contribute to its richness.
Blessings to all.
Tim June and Sue Nelson
