The library’s Holiday Open House was a great success! Over $2,000 was raised to support the Friends of the Library. Thank you to everyone who came in from the cold to sip cocoa, enjoy the twinkling tree, sample homemade treats and sing songs. Congratulations to Betsy Lyons, who won the Christmas tree raffle, decorated by Rebecca Heaton. Many volunteers and businesses pitched in to make this year’s event memorable. A sincere thank-you to our major business sponsors, Hoswer’s IGA and Mountain Market, for your generous contributions. In addition, more than 30 small trees were decorated for a silent auction by local businesses, artists and friends of the library. Thank you for your creativity and generosity. Larry Jurgeleit found and cut the beautiful Christmas tree. Bill Broste and Rodger Tuenge helped Larry wrestle the tree into position. Thank you. Many volunteers pitched in to decorate, including Rusty Goodin, Leslee Downer, Scott Gala, Bob Lix, and Heather Lende. Eli Buxton-White and Russ White set up the music and sound system. Thank you. And finally, a sincere thanks to our decorating committee, who helped choose decorations that are beautiful and festive, and also thought up a fresh event that welcomed the whole community by opening the library’s holiday fundraiser to all. Courtney Culbeck, Stacey Gala, Stacey Clark and Susan Weerasinghe put many hours into shaping this year’s holiday display. Thank you. The library’s holiday lights will stay up through the New Year for all to enjoy.
