I would like to express my appreciation for Tom Morphet’s recent editorial regarding our residents that “stick” for the winter. Our business is one that depends heavily on the summer traffic to make it viable. However, we sincerely welcome and appreciate the local customers who make it possible to keep our doors open in the winter months. Without them, it would be very lean indeed. They are our bread and butter. We are open year-round as if the townspeople who live here don’t have needs on the winter, too!
I like to look at it as the town folk helping us by using our business and us helping them by being here. It makes for community. Thanks, Tom, for recognizing the efforts many are putting forth for the good of Haines.
