A Halloween-themed fundraiser for former teacher Ray Chapin will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the elementary school gym from 5 to 7 p.m.

The festivities will include a silent auction, bungee run, bouncy house, games, fortune-telling booth, face painting, and other activities.

A roll of 15 tickets is $10. Most of the activities cost 1-2 tickets.

Chapin left his job early in the school year due to illness. Medical bills and lost wages have produced stress on Chapin and his family which organizer Jancy Hansen hopes to at least partially alleviate.

Hansen, a friend of Chapin’s and fellow teacher, started putting together the fundraiser in mid-September.

“They were really touched that the community was coming out for them,” Hansen said of the Chapin family. “They were moved that people wanted to help them out.”

The auction will offer hand-made crafts, dog-sled trips and items from local stores.
