Thanks to all that made Haines Port Development Council “summit” a success. What an honor to have so many high-level Alaska and Yukon government and industry people in one room in Haines. The summit started with video support from our Congressional delegation. You can see all of them on our website: http://www.hainesalaskaport.com.

Out of town guests included: Dr. Paul Metz, University of Alaska- Fairbanks; Bruce Carr, Alaska Railroad; Andy Hughes, Alaska Department of Transportation; Neil Froc and Ron Monk, Wellgreen mine; Glen Haight, Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development; Jesse Duke, Casino mine; Terry Hayden and Clint Ireland, Yukon Economic Development; Mark Stephens, Yukon Department of Mineral Resources; Laura Spicer, Yukon Division of Energy, Mines and Resources; Jim Strandberg, Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority.

Randall Ruaro, deputy chief of staff to Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell and Richard Wyman, Northern Cross Yukon, participated by speakerphone.

Local guests included Haines Port Development Council board member Dave Berry, who was our emcee.

The interaction of all involved was wonderful. Collectively all put together it looks like Haines Port has a bright future. Let’s all work together to make that bright future.
