I would like to thank everyone who participated in the group effort of bringing together the vision of Sue Folletti’s Healing Pole. The goal was to bring community awareness to domestic violence. I think that was accomplished, as over 100 people stopped by to watch, listen, dance and drum. As a community we came together, united, as a strong voice to say no longer will we remain silent.

I would like to personally thank the group from Klukwan that came in support, dancing and drumming. A deep, heartfelt “thank you” to Stitch Phillips for the incredible job you did in making our “great drum,” to Jan Hill, J.R. Myers, Emily Zimbrich, Sue Folletti and to my husband, Stan Mazeikas, whose help was invaluable.

A special “thank you” to our local artists, who told their own story about domestiv violence on each cylinder and to each guest speaker. Last but not least, a big thank you to our wonderful communities of Haines and Klukwan who came together, supporting awareness and healing for domestic violence. Together we are making a difference.
