American Bald Eagle Foundation 2012 interns collaborated on a children’s coloring book of the organization’s 12 birds.
Intern Claire Floyd, an Auburn University graduate with a degree in zoology, designed the book. Experienced in graphic illustration, she created the bold line drawings of each bird, which are coupled with a “wrap sheet” on each resident. A color photograph of the bird is accompanied by the species, weight and personal details.
“It seems like a lot of grandparents come in off the cruise ships, and we wanted to create something they could pick up,” said Floyd. The new offering was printed and bound in-house.
Other interns that worked on the book were Carla Irene, Marjorie Powers and Katrina Wohlfarth.
