When Karl Ward died 15 years ago, Greg Podsiki brought Boy Scouts of Troop 70 to move wood from the wood lot to my front porch as a tribute to Karl’s advocacy for the organization. Last Saturday Jayme Dozier and the Cub Scouts continued the tradition. The 10- and 11-year-old cubs Caleb Franks, Kyle Dozier, Wesley Verhamme, and Devante Delicia worked as a team, efficiently and cheerfully, stacking the wood tightly and neatly. I appreciate the demonstration of brawn and brains as evidence of good leadership.
