The outpouring of support following our brother Richard’s death has been overwhelming. The immediate response by the community and the fishermen throughout Southeast, the memorial for Richard and the establishment of the fund for inflatable suspenders all demonstrate what a close-knit community he lived in. Richard spent his adult life doing what he loved in a place that he loved, surrounded by people he loved and who loved him. He used his intellect, wit, compassion and his benevolent nature to enrich the lives of those around him. Though cut tragically short, his was indeed a life “well-lived.” We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Haines community for all that you have done these past two weeks, and thank you in advance for the support that we know will be given to Richard’s daughters in his absence.
