On the heels of one of the most successful track seasons in school history, where both the boys’ and girls’ teams won first place at the regional track meet and then competed valiantly at the state track meet against some of the largest schools in 3A, I’d like to recognize David Berry, Jim Stanford, Tyrell Horton, Greg Schlachter, Dean Olsen, and Kerry McIver for their work with the track team. These coaches are the foundation of our track program and the reason it continues to flourish. I’d also like to thank the athletes for making me feel welcome and a part of the team. Special thanks to the seniors who provided great leadership the entire season. A final note to all who didn’t go out or didn’t stick with us all season and to incoming freshmen: Track is a place where you can find success and be a part of a special team. We’ll see you next year!
