Volunteers turned out Saturday at “Cleano de Mayo,” a picnic at the bank plaza to kick off to the Haines Chamber of Commerce’s annual community cleanup. They gave out 250 garbage bags and sold 65 fajitas and 50 hot dogs. “It was a good experience. I think we’ll do it again next year,” said Chamber office manager Jamie Knudsen.
