In regards to recent letters to the Chilkat Valley News, one can only wonder about the caliber of officers of the Haines Borough Police Department. I am appalled by the neglect of the horses by officer McEwen. I am disgusted at the fact that officer McEwen gets paid leave. Wow, what a punishment.
Another thing that bothers me is that at the time of this letter, our officer on paid leave gets another reward. Apparently, she doesn’t have to pay to renew her vehicle registration. Her tags are expired. That leads me to wonder if she even has insurance. Who polices the police? Maybe we should have gone all out and sent her to Hawaii!
