“Treasure Island” will be performed by members of Lynn Canal Community Players’ Summer Youth Theater Conservatory.

The conservatory is a three-week theater day camp for youths ages 5-18. Youths ages 5-7 participate in half-time “playmaking” sessions. The conservatory is set for July 2-21, with performances July 20-21.

Annette Smith of LCCP said this year’s play will include staged combat that’s always popular with the younger set. “Pirates love to sword fight and throw people off the ship and engage in general mayhem.”

Elise Lammers will return as conservatory leader and play director. Instruction includes lessons in voice, movement, acting, improvisation and technical elements of theater productions.

Registration forms are available at Babbling Book, the public library and at http://www.chilkatcenter.org/partners. For more information, contact Smith at 766-2708.
