Several local groups are collaborating to host Monday’s community Halloween party and haunted house at the Haines ANB Hall.
Nancy Coleman, American Legion Auxiliary president, is on a committee with residents Kathryn Coleman and Teri Winge to plan the 5-7 p.m. event, with help from the American Bald Eagle Foundation, American Legion, Elks and Emblem clubs, Woman’s Club and Uglies of Haines.
“We’re going to have the cake walk, the fishing pond, the haunted house and numerous games for the kids,” Nancy Coleman said. “The bald eagle foundation is bringing owls for the kids to view.”
“I guess the haunted house was pretty good last year, and from what I’ve seen, it’s going to be better this year,” Coleman said. She said volunteers are needed to prepare the hall and run games. A work party is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday. Coleman can be reached at 314-0652.
