Lynn Canal Community Players and the Denali Drama Troupe will sponsor improvisation workshops, to be followed by a performance, Nov. 1-5.

Adult sessions will be held 7 to 9 p.m. daily at the Chilkat Center. Other workshops will be held for middle school and high school, including members of the drama, debate and forensics team, said LCCP secretary Annette Smith. “Then they’ll put together participants from both groups in a single performance.”

Former resident Amanda Stossel will represent the northern drama group, along with Nick Condon and movement specialist Jino Jordan.

Smith encouraged all interested residents to participate. “Improvisation is just not for actors and would-be actors. It can help everybody. It’s a good way to get some training on how to present yourself and talk to others. It’s good life-skill training, and it should be fun,” she said.

The final performance, “On the Fly,” will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. For more information contact Smith at 766-2708 or at 314-0898.

In related news, the local theater group will hold its annual membership meeting and potluck 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 in the Chilkat Center lobby. The group’s annual Christmas variety show, “Holly Jolly Follies,” is set for Dec. 18.
