Mayor Jan Hill has filled all seven seats on the Haines Borough’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
At the July 26 meeting of the Haines Borough Assembly, Hill appointed Logan Simpson and Jennifer Talley to terms through November 2012, and Ron Jackson, Jessica Kayser and Melany Zimmerman to terms through November 2013.
Simpson, a Haines High School senior, was appointed to a seat Hill designated for a representative between the ages of 16 and 21.
Darsie Culbeck and Marnie Hartman were appointed to the committee earlier in July, to serve until November 2014.
Committee members will “advise the borough in the operation and maintenance of parks and recreation programs, facilities, and activities,” according to an ordinance the assembly adopted in May to re-establish the group.
