Five years ago, after selling our vacation home at Oslund Drive, my husband and I visited Haines. Now alone, I returned for a visit for three beautiful weeks of sunshine and warmth and I enjoyed Haines and its wonderful surroundings once more. It’s amazing how the town made efforts: clean, new and attractive extensions, friendly staff in the shops and businesses and well-tended buildings. As a guest I feel a peaceful atmosphere, which is a luxury. Haines is special and unique for tourism. In the middle of a landscape it conveys an untouched nature which makes visitors breathless. I mean, “The Real Alaska.” We have enough “cheap tourism.” Let come people who attach great importance to see beauty; they will pay a good price for quality instead of quantity. My special thanks goes to Joan Snyder. She was my generous and kind host during my stay and spoiled me with attention. Thank you so much, Joan. Hiking with Judy Ewald was eventful. Greetings to everybody who met me – stay in touch.
