The Fourth Annual Fishermen’s Community Barbecue is expected to serve up more than 1,000 fresh King Salmon on Saturday at the Southeast Alaska State Fairgrounds.
Ocean Beauty Seafoods is again upping this year the amount of salmon it’s donating for the event. The company is providing enough salmon for about 1,100, 8-ounce portions at the free dinner, an increase from the 900 dinners served last year.
Fourteen other sponsors are providing other food, supplies and donations for the event that will include a beer garden and live band. A suggested donation of $5 goes to the fair.
